DVD Navigation Discs - Volvo Direct?

Hi guys!

I have a 2007 V8 Vantage. I wanted to update the nav system to the latest available just for piece of mind(I just want to do it). I noticed that Navteq and navigation.com aren't selling the discs anymore (I searched the old threads on here). It looks like I need to order the Nav discs directly from Volvo. I'm about to order discs for a 2006 XC90 and before I spend the money is there anything else I need to look out for? It seemed that the Navteq discs worked like a charm, but as I only have the option to order from Volvo directly (not sure if Navteq made the discs) I didn't want to mess anything up. Please help me put my mind at ease!

Look on eBay and you will find discs for Volvo. They work just fine.

CR,

I've just ordered a set through my local Volvo dealer for my 2007 Vantage. Cost is $239 plus tax. That seems steep, but I'm sure it's a lot lower than the official AML version.

I believe the eBay discs are generally not the most recent update, but the cost is lots lower.

I got the volvo disk since i also have a wagon... how do I use the disk in the 2009 vantage with HDD?

do you just put it into the unit in the trunk and it starts and stops by itself when it's done?

I read that it takes 3 hours? Do you leave the ignition on for 3 hours and use battery charger or keep car running?

any help is appreciated...

If you have the owners manual the update procedure is covered on 10.14. It took several hours to update my 2009 v8v roadster to 2016 US maps. Got mine on eBay for $30 buck. Working like a champ. I also kept my battery tender connected during the process.

Gentlemen, I would like to update the Nav system on my 2009 V8V roadster. would any of you be willing to send over your latest set of discs? I'll pay for postage and will be glad to pay it forward to the next person who needs them.

Thank you

You do know that the discs have to remain in the nav unit disc drive for the navigation to work?

I am confused...I thought the disc information transfered onto the hard drive on the 09 and up units?

As my current unit has no disc in it but works.

Thanks
