Best spray on wax?

I know this is heresy, however I can just bearly muster enough energy to wash the Vantage, a proper waxing Is out of the question.
So what's the best spray on wax? Or are they a waste of time?

I actually like Meguiar's NXT Generation Tech Wax spray, for quick wax jobs. It's a synthetic wax, so it last a long time, and it's easy to use without leaving a lot of residue.

For big shows, I'll use that as a base wax and then S100 on top of it (going the other way would be counterproductive, as the Meguiar's wax would strip off the S100).

I can barely muster the energy too, which is why it's been 6 months since the last coat of wax. Thankfully it's still got enough left to bead! But mine gets applied with a pad, not a spray bottle

For clarification, even with a spray on wax, you're buffing it in with a pad. It's not gonna change that part... I hope everyone realizes that, though.

Your RICH, you own and drive a Aston Martin< pay someone to do it

Seriously, you can buy and use CarPro Hydro 2 Silica Sealant--- literally spray this on any surface then using a high pressure washer or a hose with pressure, the car is protected for several months. Then re-apply.

Option 2: CarPro Hydrowash solution. This is a new product for them, they say its the same as Hydro 2 but incorporated into a wash. So wash car like normal using this, then when rinsing the sealant properties take effect. Then its sealed for 3x months.

I would buy both. I would use the specific one to spray on, then activate. Then use the Hydrowash for my weekly wash soap. Then you should be fine.

SPRAY waxes are a pain. You take the chance of wiping the product in and up and introducing swirls into the paint, unless you are very meticulous with which MF towels you use, and inspect them carefully. If you EVER spray this on a car, without washing it first, you are creating micro marring, PERIOD. On darker cars sometimes people have trouble with streaking. Most people use way to much, its natural and i do it from time to time with products. But, spray wax is not entirely a substitute for applying a liquid sealant. Its meant for short term. ie...less than a month or so. Its just to get you between washes so to speak, and to mildly increase the shine after a wash.

I have used the CarPro Hydro 2 product on wheels, underbody parts, and convertible roof and glass. Works absolutely awesome. Although my wheels are glass coated, I will spray this product into the wheel well area and on the wheels once a month or so to make cleaning easier, and less dust picked up.

Hope this helps, I have written many sections on here for car care and what is proper and what is not. What products are good, and what are bad. I would venture to say on here that at least 75% of the posters are Car Guys, who really want to take care of their cars. However out of that 75%, i would be somewhere in just the wash and drying process that 50% of them do it wrong, or use the wrong tools and materials to wash their cars. Thus introducing swirls and marring. I am happy to give advice and options for those who want to learn. But this was the hardest and easiest to advise on. LOL

^^ Spray waxes suck, indeed.

If you can't muster the energy, just get your car properly polished and then sealed (long-term/polymer) by a pro. Then you won't have to worry about paint protection for a long time. Hopefully once that's done, you can at least muster the energy to wash it properly every now and then LOL.

I am pleased with the CarPro HydroFoam concentrate I found on Amazon ($20 for 17 oz which mixes with water 10:1). I spray it on and use a mitt to distribute over painted surfaces and rinse thoroughly...this after I have washed the car with more conventional car wash soap. Probably redundant but works for me. The CarPro product is very slick, almost oily, when applied and delivers excellent water beading. I use a leaf blower to dry my Vantage and the water beads literally jump off the car.

Try the Hydro 2 regular, then use the foam to wash. You will likely get slightly better results. The Foam should do the work of your wash soap.

Please go buy a Metro Blaster Sidekick----they are about $80-100 depending on where you buy them. A leaf blower no matter the kind will not do the job correctly. With the Sidekick you can get all the water, quickly, to include the cracks. A leaf blower just doesn't have the concentrated amount of air. Even a Stihl gas powered top of the line blower cannot do it. So likely no homeowner has one. But $85 or so to do it right.

The sidekick can also be used for interior bits to get things out of the cracks, vents, etc. I use a Master Blaster 8hp version after upgrading from a sidekick. I actually open all doors of a car, then use the blower hose to clean everywhere, then only vacuum quickly. Then use a brush for carpet stripes. No this is personal cars not a business.

if you not washing with either a 2-bucket method or using one MF towel per panel you are introducing swirls and scratches when you wash. If you have to at all put a towel on the car after leaf blowing it, you are introducing scratches into the paint.

25% of scratches come from the washing phase
75% of scratches come from the drying phase.

Hope this gives some insight

On hindsight, I should have just repeated the above whenever a buzzer for wrong goes off. Then let you guys ask how to properly take care of the car

Check out Car Pro Reload. It is a sealant so I always apply it to freshly polished or coated paint. I learned about it after having a ceramic treatment on my Vantage. I now use it on my daily (no wax). This stuff works amazing and I can dry my car off with a leaf blower. The paint will stay super slick and it lasts for a few months before needing another application. You simply apply it after a wash once every few months. Wipe off with fresh microfibers.

It is and does work very well. It is mainly used for keeping CQuartz freshly active so to speak.

Carpro
1. Essence is a silica based polish that has silica fillers to mask marring and light swirls and does not need to have ERASER used afterward to then apply--CQUARTZ

2. Reload is used similar as a spray wax but for the CQUARTZ to rejuvenate it several times a year. Its maintenance for the coating

3. RESET is the intensive shampoo made for the silica based Reload Essance and CQUARTZ product line

4. Hydro 2 is the standalone product for sealing the paint WITHOUT touching the paint with anything.

All the ones other than Hydro 2 require wiping and towels and enhance gloss levels. Hydro 2 only adds protection.

Please buy a Sidekick blower, it is worth every penny within $85. So all 8500 of them. God I hope I counted that right

That's what I am thinking... Just get it waxed professionally twice a year if you keep it in a garage. I like Meguiars spray detailer after drying the car to remove any water spots or what-have-you...

At least Aston's are easy to wash...

The problem is finding someone that I trust. I am about 40 miles north of Tampa and would rather not drive to Tampa just to find a reputable detailer.

In the end it might be the only solution.
