I inquired about shipping for the bumper upgrade kit, which does contain a fair amount of items that are large but light weight. I was blown away by the amount quoted: $1,114 USD. That is just too much to justify the purchase for me.

 

It is the size more than the weight that causes the price, bet they were shipping by air.

 

Even with shipping it’s still much cheaper than retail. I want those bumpers too but afraid of possible shipping damage Maybe if someone bought my stock bumpers I’d take the risk!

 

I planned on just renting them. I would keep the originals and swap back to stock at resale time, then sell the CF stuff to recoup some of the costs. I'm cheap that way

When I brought my carbon diffuser from them it was shipped overnight air. It wasn't $1100 but still a good amount but still a lot cheaper than all other sources available.
Btw duty is not included in their quote.

 

Not so much by weight but volume weight. Plus insurance etc. What courier?

 

Dimensional weight. It's double or triple oversize which gets into stupid money on international.

 

Check into a UK-US freight forwarder [container shipping] for very reasonable rates, but expect to have to pay by wire to Bits. Card payment they'd have to prove they shipped to the registered address of the card, and you received it, or they would lose any chargeback [fraud prevention]. Pay cash and they are free to ship wherever you direct.

 

We have been able to bring in stuff like bumpers at a reasonable cost by combining with shipment of other parts. Brings the per part cost down quite a bit.
