Anybody else notice the car in the Farmers Insurance Commercial?

 

Yes, I noticed it but had the hard time pausing on the exact frame.

 

You could never see the bumper to tell exactly what it was, as you can see when you play it. I knew it was an Aston and assumed DB9 but thought it could be a Virage also.


How did you get the single frame shot showing the whole front end?

 

hah funny, that reminds me, I first got into aston martins after hearing an exhaust note (of a DB9) from a michael jordan charlie sheen commercial for hanes

 

definitely a DB9, however, the hood on the wall isn't

 

The bonnet on the wall is the same one straight off the car, you couldn't perfectly match a crashing paint job like that

I find your lack of attention to detail disturbing

The paint looks like it matches (the pattern does, but not where it ends on the bonnet).

In addition, a DB9 bonnet is a lot slimmer at the front.

 

I can admit when I'm wrong, but I'm not positive I am. Nothing says that was the last shot or the last paint dropped, but I see the difference in the bonnet itself.


Possibly they had a peelable clear mask they just transferred onto another hood, but that paint is too exact a match otherwise.

Yea, I was concentrating on the paint, not impossible to duplicate but would be *extremely* difficult. I did not concentrate on the exact shape of the hood and cursory glance it looks right, but you're right in that the shape is not. They must have done a clear wrap drape over the DB9 then just transferred that onto an imitation bonnet.
