Emissions Service check engine light

Use a cheap ODB-2 scanner to check, its quite likely to show an EGR valve error. If so it's likely to be the DPFE sensor which is part of the valve. I'm writing up a post on that subject shortly in fact.

Ok so excuse my ignorance on this but where do I hook this up? And how do I know what the code means? I’ve never really done anything on my own car and I’m out of town at a place where there’s no Aston dealer nearby until next week.
thanks

If there is an AutoZone or some other major auto parts store in your area they can pull the code for you, free of charge.
The staff are usually knowledgable enough to provide some insight to the code as well.
Once you have the code(s) an easy google search will fill in the details
Good luck
Oh, and the port is right by your right knee, under the dash when you're sitting in the drivers seat.

What year is your car? O2 sensors seem fairly common to need replacing on earlier cars. Low battery can also cause odd readings. If the car is running ok I wouldn't worry about it too much and you could get it looked at when you get back home. You'll fail emisssions, but that's about it at this point.

I had to replace mine at 30,000km or 18,000 miles on a 2009 V8 Vantage, in my case I replaced both side at the same time and the error didn't come back in the last 20,000kms so far

is it hard to replace the OS sensor yourself? i wonder if it's something i can do on my own if it's easily reachable in the engine bay.
