Another clutch Question....

Hey all-

I'm looking to update my clutch on my 2015 Vantage V8S.

I've got two choices. The AMR clutch or the VAP clutch.

As it stands, I'm leaning toward the VAP clutch.

However, when speaking about the AMR clutch, my understanding is that a new torque tube is needed for MY14+ cars due to a change in the design of a spacer. AML offers a core exchange for this along with a modest upcharge. Not required for MY13 and earlier.

My question is whether the exchange torque tube, which is applicable in the case of MY14+ cars, will work with the VAP clutch.

If it won't then I'll need to install the AMR clutch.

All replies will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

TAC

I have a new VAP clutch in my 2010 V8V and it's fabulous. BUT, takes gettin used to - a lil tricky going in Reverse (needs more revs).....overall, THE best way to go, IMHO

I think you do need that tube on 14+ cars but Contact @VelocityAP for answer. At some point I want to upgrade my 2013 vantage, but with sub 11k miles I'm still far away.

Torque tube needs machined for any dual disc clutch. AMR or Velocity units. It would be nice if they shared the spec. For the amount to be machined off.

Never got an answer, but did an exchange and it worked with the VAP package without any machining.

We do share the spec when people order, and choose to have machined themselves.

I was a silly goose and installed the VAP kit without the torque tube machined/replaced - I should have read better. Thankfully the car wasn't driven long. I have a replacement AMR torque tube coming in tomorrow from Aston Martin for $1100.

@Stuart@VelocityAP to clarify, does 2013 manual cars need tube machined for twin plate clutch upgrade?
