Nothing has gone wrong. well apart for a parking sensor fault that would come and go on occasion.
Other than that, the car has been flawless.
Compared to my R8 which over the same time had the following replaced
magnetic ride $$$$$
oil temp sensor$
fuel cap locking mechanism$$
AC condensor replaced x 2 $$$
One worry though.
It took me 2 months to sell it… and only 2 people were interested, and I got 1500 USD less than what I paid 1,5 years ago. Now I think that the reason it was a hard sell, much harder than I have ever tried before, was most likely down to the color combo, with gray exterior and white seats… a combo that looked good in person, but perhaps not as much on paper. Compared with the R8, I must have had 50 emails and a bnch of strange offers...
When I say I only lost 1500 USD, then that is a truth with modifications.
Here are the costs
Yearly service 1500 USD
Sports exhaust and other mods 2500 USD
So, I guess that my total cost is 5500 USD for 1,5 years of ownership and 6000miles 10000 km… which is next to nothing in the bigger scope....
At any rate, I do not know why there was not so much interest in the car... it was competitively priced, with an 6 months warrenty option, combined with good and informative add..
Could be that the weather is just to hot right now for anybody to do anything.. and I do not see any of the other Vantages being shipped that are for sale here..
Regardless, sad to see her leave, but so much fun to search for the next project..
I like the color combo it does not bother me at all. I noticed it was a sport shift and it seems there are a lot of SS on the market and not as many manuals. The SS seem to sell for less than a manual. I would prefer a manual but if the price is right I could live with a SS car. And it seems the SS cars are priced right for a good way to get into a AM.
