Door Mirror Removal - Proper Corrosion Fix
Here is a DIY I created to help you remove your door mirror - It's pretty involved, but a more permanent fix to the common corrosion problem we've faced. I'm very glad I did it, because once I removed the part I noticed there ware corrosion on the piece inside the door and under the quarter window - If I sanded and spray-painted it in place, as other have suggested, it would not have lasted very long.

Hi
I'm just in the process of stripping down my wing mirrors, cross threaded bolts on the window channel nearly stopped me in my tracks. This handy guide is great thanks. I'm now at the point of removing the wiring terminal, but can't seem to get the wires to release despite having a range of pin tools. I'm struggling to see from your picture which side the barb is on the connector? Do you recall what approach angle was required?

Hey fallingjetengine
Just a quick thanks for the brilliant "how to remove wingmirror" guide.
Managed to pick up a couple of replacement wing mirrors to swap out my corroded ones.
Was all going well until I got to the little bastard screw hiding in the window seal.
Bloody thing was stuck tight and is now head stripped/rounded. Bollocks!
Reverting to Plan B (mask, sand, prime, paint)
Ah well. Thanks anyways.
Cheers.
