To avoid any mouse issues which can do significant damage I bag my cars and include large desiccant containers inside to absorb any moisture.

Here are my Aston and E-Type sealed for the winter in zipped up bags

Mothballs placed in various places in dishes to prevent staining from the oil they contain will keep the rodents away , they hate the smell .
it doesn’t linger in the car interior either once you remove them .

I put Bounce dryer sheets as they also don't like that smell

We don't have what like you do? Something special about that border line that makes that much of a difference. We got 10' of snow in 2 weeks a few years ago LOL
