Denver V8V is infamous around these parts
How can you tell the paddle shift clutch needs replacing?

My '09 V8V R now has over 17K miles and when I researched these cars I was informed that the paddle shift clutch lasts about 20K miles. Of course much goes into how that number is arrived at especially individual driving habits and street vs. highway. That said, what can I expect to experience that will indicate to me the clutch is reaching its end of useful life?

My 2009 with a sportshift clutch lasted 55K miles before it's first replacement (the owner after me replaced the clutch).

Mine is now on 22000 and no signs of any clutch slippage. I believe the dealer can calculate the clutch life with their software.

If you don't have a firm shift, any delay at high RPM between shifts or a dreaded message that says gear position fault, unable to select. As described above have a dealer estimate how much is left. @ your miles and little abuse your most likely @ the 50/50 mark.

When I bought my 2009 a couple of years ago, the dealer did the PPI and measured the clutch wear. He said I had a couple thousand miles left. He was right.
Put new clutch in (standard AM, not the newer light weight one) for about $3600. Car was sloppy shifting and would stall in reverse... now drives like new.

Clutch life in V8V is very dependent on driving habits and skill.

Thank you for the replies. I now have a better idea of what to watch for. So far it appears my clutch is in good condition. If I get to 40K or better it certainly far exceeds my expectations.
