DB9 Cigar Lighter or Power Port

My cigar lighter in the cabin is dead. I checked all the fuses, and they all were good. I tested the rear 12V port in the back, and it is good. Any one have a wiring diagram so I can try to trace it down? I wanted to put a USB charger/bluetooth dongle in the car so I could stream music from my phone, while being able to answer the phone in the car.

Thanks

I'd look at the fuse in the passenger footwell first. I had the exact same problem on my V8 Vantage. Fuse had blown (Fuse 55). Replaced it, and its now fine. Seems that these often blow because metal objects, like keys, touch it, short it, and thus blow the fuse.

I tried that and checked every fuse in the cabin box - no luck. I guess I am going to have to see if it is getting power. I checked it previously for power, but will have to remove it to see if just assembly is open circuit.

If the console has ever been apart, it may have not been plugged in. Any aftermarket accessories fitted? Some use that circuit for power supply. Best to open it up for a look and voltage/ground test.

That was next on the agenda after I get the top repaired. Then I will pull up the center console and check to see that it is plugged in - I suspect it isn't. No aftermarket stuff. I wish there was a connector for my phone. I bought a transmitter that will charge phone and play music. I was hoping to use the cigar lighter.

If it is not plugged-in, then fantastic news, it will be simple to solve. Alternatively, some of the cheap Chinese made accessories that plug in to that socket can short it out or even damage it due to the poor fit. I have even seen the small nipple on the end of these accessories fall out into the socket. Lets hope its the plug.

As a bit of advice that we have found here, it is best to have the ignition switched OFF whilst installing and removing accessories from this socket to reduce the chance of shorting out.

i accidentally blew the fuse on a cigarette lighter in a 2007 vantage. the fuse, in the passenger footwell fuse box, was one of the many marked 'spare'. i think it was a 20amp one. the manual was very vague about where it was. very rude of them...

Workshop manual says 15amp mini in F45. But most of us found it in F55.
