Thinking about purchasing this Vantage V12 MT...

Since I sold my V8V this past summer, I have been looking for a proper replacement. Does anyone know this car sitting @ an Aston Dealership in Summit NJ? Thoughts regarding a V12 vs. V12S? Thank you in advance for your help!

I can offer my thoughts as I had been looking for a V12 vantage over the last year. After driving the V12VS models I realized that the transmission is actually pretty good as long as you keep it in manual mode. While it is not up to the level of a Porsche PDK it is not bad. I would urge you to drive one and really spend some time and get used to how the transmision wants to be shifted. The spread of torque that the new motor has more than makes up for the transmission in my opinion. For spirited driving you just arent shifting that much anyway. Once you get used to lifting the throttle for a split second during the upshifts it is a nice shifting piece. Its just sort of like a manual transimission ,you just dont have the third pedal. The dowshifts are fine. The more aggresive you drive it, the better it shifts up and down.

To me the overall package of the newer S models with the bigger brakes and better suspension was what swayed me to buy a 2017 S model. I am loving the motor and the way it delivers its power . It is also a very capable canyon carver with good grip, amazing brakes and good manners when pushed hard. Also, how can you not love 565 hp and almost 500 ft lbs of torque ? I have a feeling this car will stay in my stable for years to come.
Now that I am used to the shifting, I am glad I went with the newer S model and plan to rack up a lot of miles in the future with this steed.

l‘ve driven that car.... 2x. It’s modified. Wheels are not stock. It’s fast as hell but I’m looking for something completely stock and this car, while super fun has too many mods for me.

Its been there a really long time.

Mine is pure stock V12S (also a 2017) SportShift - if you drive the SportShift always in manual mode - quite pleasant. I've had 3 V8 Vantages (a 2007, a 2009, and a 2015 GT) and 3 V12S (two 2015 and the 2017). As far as the change from 2015 and 2017, the reason I went newer was I wanted silver/grey with tan interior and the only one was a new 2017, otherwise not great difference between the two other than the middle panel. For my driving, I don't need 565HP, but there is a lot about the V12S over the V8 (which is also wonderful) that just seems more special. Today, almost every car is quick. A typical family sedan today is better performing than most 'supercars' of 25 years ago. The V12 and the V12S remains the best 'elegant' sportscar with enough rarity to make it very unique. The interiors (2015 and 2017) are very special places to be. When I sit in a Porsche 911 (even the latest) it feels cheap compared to the Vantages. I was recently in Paris talking to the Aston Dealer there, and we were talking about the V12S's and how low cost they are currently. When I mentioned that if I hold on ton the car 5 or 10 years it should go up in value. The owners of the dealership had an extensive personal collection and said the V12S will start increasing in value within 3 years. I hope they are right.

Thank you for your input, I assume the mods are wheels and likely a tune? I’m a bit stunned that Aston would certify the car with many mods, it has been there for over 200 days I was assuming there had to be some issue.

I appreciate all of your detailed input, based on my preferences I will likely focus on a v12v S manual. I drove an S with the Auto transmission, and although I know I would get used to it, it’s not quite what I am looking for.

Good.. not great, but certainly not bad. I would say consistent with a car of the miles.

Also has built in radar... Miguel Santos is the GM... ask for him if you are close and need some more help.

I had a deposit on a Stratus White v12 but the deal didn't work out. When that deal fell through, I was in contact with them about this car as well.
This V12 is pretty far away from me and I'm not excited about a car from the NJ area that's the reason I haven't followed up on it more.

The mods you list are great, stuff I would certainly do probably right away.
Only downside that OEM parts are not included and I can't stand black wheels.

A friend of mine is looking at that car too. What mod's beyond the wheels were done?

good luck with your search.
I just purchased a 2017 V12VS manual with delivery miles back in October.

I looked for the proper spec for my tastes for 2 years!

There were only 100 of these cars made for the USA and only made in MY 2017.

There were only 4 for sale in USA at that point in October...2 white convertibles, one black coupe and mine-- Flügplatz blue

Currently, there is only 1 car for sale in the USA that I can find on Aston's preowned website, DuPontregistry.com, aututrader.com, cars.com, eBay etc.
(The black coupe sale is pending in the Seattle area for a great price ($169k list)).

It is a "new arrival" at Porsche Newport Beach for $180k....silver over black...2200 miles
