DB9 Airbag Warning

Fired up my '05 DB9 this morning and was greeted by "SRS Airbag Service Urgent" on the display. The airbag light was lit on the dash as well. I've had similar warnings on other cars that went away relatively quick. Is this truly urgent on AMs?

It reads "Squib left side airbag (seat mounted) resistance too high".

Sounds like you have an open circuit on that airbag. Could be in the detonator, or just a loose connection. Good news is that it won't fire on an open circuit.

That was fun Matt. My favorite thing to do with my morning coffee is dive into tight spots and reverse engineer a British made plug so I can disconnect it. Unfortunately it did not correct the error. It looks like a trip to my AM dealership is in my future.

I have the exact same fault, and have not been able to clear it either. I talked with Jon at Steel Wings, and he said it can wait. I will have them look at it when I take it there for oil change and annual check up.

In the manual they indicate that the issue may be something under the seats or similar. Mine occurred when I lifted my laptop on the seat when I was driving home.

Presumably you are using the correct port on the car? SRS can only be cleared through the body port (if the fault or problem has been rectified).

Correct port - the SRS was cleared by the scanner. HOWEVER, the warning that does not clear is "Passenger Airbag Service Required". This will not clear.

Was there ever a resolution to this?
I'm getting a spurious P002B which the Foxwell NT530 (incorrectly maps) to "Squib Load Adaptive Steering Column" "resistance too high", but on my Rapide , it's actually "Squib rear DMIC (in door) airbag right" "resistance too high" .

I seem to have triggered it after a low battery crank (where I got about 40 DTCs and was able to clear all of them except this one)

I've tested the "door mounted integrated curtain" airbag resistance directly in the door (vs a spare unit) with a test plug I made and it's within spec of eachother. I can clear the code and it either comes back immediately, or takes a couple days to come back. Unfortunately, the Foxwell NT530 appears to not have very good Rapide support as I'm unable to monitor the rear doors (surprise!) airbag resistance in the live data, which would be a big help.

Next step is to check the resistance across from the RCM plug to the door module, but interested to know if anyone's cleared a "squib resistance too high" error, or if it's likely a RCM unit that was damaged during the low voltage event I had.

Yes three was resolution. I cleared it with my scanner and it hasn't surfaced since. Good luck with the gremlin search....
