Question Slow Folding Mirror

The driver's side mirror is becoming slow to turn in and sometimes does not turn it. I had to disable it the folding on lock feature. Does this mean I need a new mirror or what's the next step?

Is there are any diagrams or "how to's" on disassembling the mirror?

I helped a friend replace a non-functioning mirror on his 2012 Virage. Getting the mirror unit off the car was easy, getting the glass off was easy, getting the painted cap off was terrifying (but there's some info posted on this site that helps).

Once it's off and open it's really not clear how you could tear it down much further.

Aston502 is infamous around these parts
Some things better left to the dealer or experienced service people.

I have the mirror on the list for the next visit. I'll email him ahead to see if there's something that can be done or if it's a replacement only thing . If there's a service, I'll go in just for that.
