Coil Pack 2007 DB9

Are the coil packs for the DB9 the same as the Ford 3.0L V6 x2? As I recall, they are DG-213. Are these the correct coil packs? $200 for 6

Hi Scott,

I poked around quite a bit but could never find a 3 pin coil pack. A 2007 should have the 3 pin and not the more common 2 pin. This allows them to run individual ground lines to each coil. Are these 3 pin?

Best
Larry

I am pretty sure they are 3 pin based on other articles like this one from Aston Martin 1936. Some of the comments indicate that the Jaguar 3.0 fit. Going through auto parts places, they indicate the Motorcraft DG-213 is a replacement, but before I buy any, I want to make sure

What Steve shows is a 2 pin coilover. I never found a 3 pin...

My 2007 are 3 pin. My understanding is that 2 pin in 2007 is rare and may be in the very early 07MY.

The 2 pin are a Ford DG-528 (I think). I have seen several that look real possible using the 8G43-12A366-AA (3 pin) part number - specifically the 12A366-AA part of the part number - lots of Chinese manufacturers. Even found the specifc part number for $4.91 US

Other than the fuss of fitting new connectors is there a reason why one couldn't just retrofit the more common 2pin type coil? One wire is power and the other is signal. Why is there a need for a full time dedicated ground?

I believe AM went to a three pin to get a better ground at the coil than they would get through the block. I thought about rewiring my harness when I had it out but thought I would just let it go at this time... Something to consider in the future!

But, I absolutely refuse to believe it is a custom run of coils. It's used in something... Just need to find it!
