Vantage 2018-2020 GPS Map update

The map version on the 2018-2020 is USA-2018 which lag as far as new roads and specially POI, and no AA or ACP option!

I got this email from AML:
Dear Mr Lefebvre,

Thank you for your enquiry. I’m really pleased to hear your enjoying your beautiful Aston Martin Vantage.

Currently it is not possible to update the Sat Nav system on your Vantage. This is something we at Aston Martin are actively working to resolve but currently do not have an ETA.

We apologise for the frustration caused but appreciate your patience.

Kindest regards

Lucy
Since it's a Merc based electronic head unit, anyone aware of other sources where I could update the maps.

This is the reply I got following my May inquiry.
Firstly please accept my apologies for the delayed reply, unfortunately at the present time we are still working with our suppliers to obtain the required map updates and as yet we do not have a confirmed release date.

Please rest assured that this is being treated as a priority and we will hopefully have some news in the coming months.

Once again please accept our apologies for the delays with the map updates.

Kind regards

Keith
Is the situation the same in UK?

The old MB tech, combined with the tinny stereo are the weakest links in the new Vantage. As much as I love driving the car the stereo is terrible to distraction and the plastic (sub iPad) Navi screen with ancient MB tech slapped in the middle of the dash undoes the entire cabin. Lack of map updates is a symptom of a bigger issue.

I fully agree with you, the small screen should have been integrated into the dashboard, it really feels alien compared to the rest of the ergonomics.

I had a 2016 C300, which is the same exact version of the infotainment and the only thing I didn't like about the cabin interior was the slapped pad on the dashboard.

But still, that C300 can receive updates through the SD-Card reader, we're in May 2020, a 2018 map is unacceptable by any standards.

I love my car but I'm not sure I'll repeat when my lease is up. I didn't realize how bad the stereo would be and the tech is in your face and lacking. Lease is up in 17 months so let's see if they make things better. (I doubt it as AM has bigger issues than whether a guy like me in California likes the kit in his car!)

I completely agree with your points, the "tech" is not that important, but a GPS is. I really don't see sticking my phone on a cradle in the car LOL. Maybe an Android-Auto update?
