O2 sensors
O2 sensors
I've got a P0133 emissions fault code flagging bank 1 sensor 1 that has returned twice now after clearing. Not surprising; I've read that the upstream oxygen sensors tend to fail prematurely on these cars (I'd love to tune it so that it doesn't burn them up so quickly). Conventional wisdom is to replace them both when the car goes in for a new VAP clutch later this month, which is what I'm planning to do, but I'm not willing to pay $225 each just for the parts.
I've found one interchangeable part number so far, they're made by NGK and they cost half as much, even including the VAT and international shipping from the UK to Pennsylvania.
Has anyone replaced their upstream oxygen sensors with NGK LC-9958? How do they perform? Do they last longer than the stock sensors?

Nevermind... The Ford Motorcraft interchange part number is 5C5Z9F472AA. They're available
Normally I'd buy from Rich at Redpants, but the 5x price difference for the Aston branded parts is just too much manufacturer branding mark-up than I am willing to accept. I'll just use the savings to buy a 2-year service kit from him instead. Or maybe a lightweight battery and mount.

Universal fitment front and back.

Perfect timing, I just heard back from the NGK reps in both USA and UK as I am getting ready to replace mine as well.
I am upgrading the manifolds, cats, xpipe, and tune which would require me to have longer O2 sensors. My options were to either buy harness extensions or replace the O2 sensors with longer cords.
My O2 sensors do not need to be replaced, but I heard its a pain to get to once bolted back up. It would be easier to deal with when swapping out the exhaust components. Thus, I reached out to NGK and got the exact match.
Unfortunately, they do not sell the 1:1 replacements here in the USA, but there are sellers in the UK willing to ship. I reached out to the UK NGK division and got their response. See below.
"Sorry for the short delay in response. The query was sent via our USA website, so it was returned to the UK via our European HQ in Germany!
The OE part numbered sensors you enquire about are supplied to Aston Martin by us, NTK. We have recently carried out some lambda sensor consolidations in the Aftermarket and as luck would have it, the latest NTK numbers quoted as cross referencing from the OE part numbers do have a longer lead! Please see below:Upstream: 6G33-9F472-AA. Aftermarket number OZA488-AM1, 0042, lead length 439mm - superseded to OZA816-EE1, 95598, lead length 810mm.
Downstream: 6G33-9G444-AA. Aftermarket number OZA381-AM1, 1707, lead length 650mm - superseded to OZA836-EE13, 92107, lead length 950mm.
The sensors come with any necessary cable ties to neatly bind to the length you require (both still have the same internal structure specification and correct connectors for the vehicle installed).
I hope this answers your questions. "
When talking to their techs, not all O2 sensors are made the same and just bc the connectors work does not mean you will not have issues with readings down the line.
Hope this helps. I will be going down this route and since they are much longer, should be a good option for 1) replacement 2) work with the new mods.
this is from a post a couple of years ago. Hope it helps.

Intrazel et al: Question for the group- is my 2010 V8V share the same engine as your DB9? If so, then I will order those parts......!
Some research has not been too successful thus far in getting an answer - Thanks!!

Just completed installing the Ford crossover 02 sensors (by this I mean, my great Techs at LoCo Exotics in VA) in the car - they were already in the immediate neighborhood replacing the burned out clutch - and I pick it up today! YEA!
