Looking to buy a Rapide but the interior seat color specs from AM service dept VIN lookup does not match the actual interior seat colors??? Black vs Red.

I understood LUXE gave the new owner the opportunity to pick other colors. Maybe it was black seats and the factory/dealer changed them out to red once someone decided they wanted that color for the LUXE option?

 

It's my understanding that the Luxe version was a level up from the base Rapide. This was before the Rapide S was out. They came from the factory that way so not sure why your specs don't match the VIN. Maybe the previous owner did a swap.

 

I''m starting to think the same. Not a low cost swap though since they are also supposed to be heated and ventilated seats. Appreciate the response!

 

I believe the Lux came with 2 crystal keys, glass buttons, and possibly luggage. Depends the year, what defined the Lux model changed, but a base model could be ordered with all the Lux had. I wouldn't put much stock into one or the other. Comes down to the actual options on the car in question.

 

Makes sense. I agree it's the options that matter vs whether it's an actual LUXE. Didn't know that the LUXE package changed depending on the model year! Much appreciated.
