Oil Consumption in a Daily Driven Vantage V8

Searched but could not find any information.
For those that drive a few times a week, what have you found your oil consumption to be? I am going through about 1 liter of 10w60 every 3000 miles. Is this normal? I am ordering the catch can kit to monitor more closely.
I admit I have not checked levels regularly and was shocked to be 2 liters down yesterday after about 6000 miles. I have done an oil change every 3000 up to now, but figured I should be able to go 6000 miles between with a good synthetic. So I do not think I noticed the consumption before as I simply drained and added 10 liters +/- to full.

Thanks for any insight.

Our 2007 V8V has about 43,000 miles. I don't have to add oil between oil changes which are done about every 5,000 miles. It may drop about 1/2 a liter. I have a catch can on ours and empty it as part of the oil change. Get 1/4 - 1/2 a cup.

Saying all that - I don' think 1 liter every 3,000 miles is out of line.

Thanks guys. I will have to check it more often then. We shall see what the catch can catches.

ccfulton is infamous around these parts
Catch cans are a wonderful thing.

If a PCV valve goes bad you can blow oil out the full load breather side into the intake tube / MAF / air filter and lose some from the sump that way. If you've had those off recently, did anything seem excessive?
