Vantage V8S 2015

So I just poured my last bit of oil into this thirty beast. Right now I'm wondering where is all the oil going? Does this engine really burn THAT much oil?

Some technical discussion would be greatly appreciated.

Much thanks

Peace

Not very technical, but as a data point, I've never had to add oil to my '09 V8V.

Did you track how many miles between interval when you have to replenish the oil?

No, I have not. I generally check the oil level every 10 days, or each time that I fill the gas tank.

(just to add, I do drive aggressively)

Start doing it tomorrow, guesstimate your oil consumption and divide over miles interval. Compare what you have to the acceptable oil consumption standard. The standard assumption of engine oil consumption is below 1 quart per 1000 miles.

At least you're keeping it on level. Your driving habits and monitoring it I do commend. I assume you are checking it at the same temperature, run time and procedure as indicated in the manual. I only ask cause I have found the levels change dependant on how it's checked even within a few minutes and cold, warm or hot.

I only check the oil level in the morning, after it sits overnight.

Start up, run between 1500 and 2000 rpms for 20 secs. Wait 30 secs, and then check.

Because it's a dry sump system, aren't you supposed to check it only when the car is off?

Did I forget to say, "turn off the engine", and then wait thirty seconds before checking the level?
