AM ends GTE racing
I always enjoy watching the Aston GTE's race at 24 hrs Daytona they did well this year... spent some time talking to the teams in the paddock at Daytona... nice cars
the only way to go... I've never sat in the stands... best time ever was 2009 Monaco GP... all access with our family boat at the marina by the pool... best week ever
This is an interesting avenue for Aston to explore. I feel as if the GTE and GTE AM series for them was the most relatable series for AM owners, as those cars are based on the production cars we can buy. When they win, it hopefully boosts sales. Going to F1, I'm not sure many will relate. Albeit, if any team was going to enter F1, this would be the year to enter as the playing field is fairer. I am excited to see Sebastian Vettel compete for AM.

F1 is where you want to be to build brand awareness. Sports car racing is great and all, but doesn't get a brand on a world stage like F1. DBX will be a medical car next year and I believe rotation of Aston and Mercedes as the pace car.
Vettel has very limited success as a brand ambassador. Not sure if it was him or the campaign behind him. The Infiniti campaign was a failure. Ferrari hasn't done much with him. The cute Ferrari World stuff is a hoot, so he has it in him at least. Cannot imagine Stroll is going to let Vettel sit idle and not promote Aston Martin.

Yeah, I think that the re-focus on F1 makes a lot of sense. I LOVE sportscar racing, but it's a pretty limited market visibility-wise compared to F1.
Lawrence Stroll is/was already fully committed with Force India/Racing Point - now with an ability to re-brand to AM and owning the road car company, it looks promising. Much of Mr. Stroll's success can be attributed to his business sense around branding.
Same for the technical and engine supply partnerships with Mercedes/AMG in F1 and in some of the road cars - no brainer under the circumstances.
Hopefully this will give AM (the company) a real shot. I would personally like to see it succeed as I'm nursing 10,000 shares of ARGGY (now ARGGD).
