rear side marker light removal
Just purchased a 2009 DBS , six speed manual car, my wife is freaking out a little as I have all the wheels off , all 4 inner fender wells, air boxes and front marker lights, had the DBS about 2 weeks. Having a little issue with the removal of the rear side red marker lights, US car. Looking for so insight on how to remove them to put in smoked and replace a burned out bulb. I am sure I am not the first to do, try this. thanks for any insight , Stuart
Workshop manual for DB9 has you removing the taillights and the bumper cover. Don't know if DBS is the same. That'll probably push your wife over the edge
You might be able to replace the bulb without all that, but getting them out to smoke the lens might be tough.

Thanks for the info, after looking at the light adea. I was thinking the same thing, that the bumper had to come off, is there some where I can find the info to remove the bumper correctly, also any idea where where to get a complete work shop manual for a 2009 DBS. thanks
I'm thinking of smoking the red rear marker lights on my vantage...a recent thread said access to those was thru rear wheel wells and bumper cover did not have to come off. may be the same for DBS?
removing the rear reflectors in the bumper do require to remove cover.

THANKS FOR ALL THE INFO. Yes the DBS is different than the Vantage , when u take the wheel liner off u c that the trunk goes to about 1/2" from the inside of the fender and u can't even c the second holding nut,. I called the dealer to ask about a bulb change, hold on. Was told u have to make an appointment to change the bulb, est $ 400 to 500, HOLY S--T BATMAN, Am I showing my age. Wonder what it cost to put air in your tires?
I fixed the same burnt out marker bulb a short while ago I can say for sure the bumper needs to be loosened for the DB9/DBS/Virage. Having done it, I can see why the dealership would charge that.
None of it is too difficult, just a PITA and you can get away with just loosening whichever side you need access to.
Wheel well liner out
Remove 2x 10mm bolts that attach the bumper front edge to the quarter panel
Trunk lining loosened
Tail light out (3 big nuts behind the trunk lining)
Remove screw behind tail light that attaches bumper cover to quarter panel
Scooch the bumper out a little and now you can get to the bulb from the wheel well
Reassemble in reverse order.
One thing to watch out for is that there isn’t really anything that locates the tail light precisely so you have to make sure it lines up with the quarter properly and also that there is enough clearance to the trunk lid. If it’s too far toward the center the there can be an interference when you close the lid. Ask me how I know.

Ok got the smoked rear markers in, about 4 hrs a side, a few more bolts to remove and had to drill a new hole and cut some plastic away to get the spin nut on, On the DBS also had to move the fuse box , as there is a 10mm bolt behind it that holds the bumper in place. Have to remove the 3 screws when the tail lights are removed , and than the 2 bolts that hold the lower back fender to the carbon rear valance, than carefully move the bumper cover away from the tail light area, put a few cloths to protect the painted surfaces. Than u can get your small hand in between the bumper cover and the body to remove the speed nuts or plug to change the bulb. thanks and have fun
Sorry about that, I forgot about the 10mm bolt that comes through from inside the trunk. In my case I was able to sneak it out without removing the fuse box.
