Transaxle Pan Gasket

Another day in the life.... After parking the 2007 DB9 in the garage since October, it was time to get the weather stripping on the convertible top fixed, and get the annual oil change. After starting, and backing the car out of the garage, I noticed a large puddle of oil that had the touch and feel of automatic transmission fluid. The puddle was in the middle of the car, behind the rear wheels (or close). When returning from dropping the car off at SteelWings, I noticed that I had left a trail of two streams up the driveway 12" apart. SteelWings cleaned up the bottom, and drove it for a short while, with no evidence of leaks. I would say the puddle was about 18-24" in diameter. I suspect the pan gasket, so getting that replaced. The tires also need replacing, so getting a new set of PS-4. While the wheels are off, the TPMS sensors will be checked to see what the life is. Hopefully I wont need those.

Pan gaskets rarely leak, especially that much. You may want to ask them to look into finding the actual leak.

That is the trouble - they cleaned it up, and drove it and didn't see any further leaking. They looked at the low pressure hoses, and everything else. Not sure if related to the cold. But very strange - particularly with the two drips 12 inches apart (centerline to centerline).

Yes, but it didn't leak before so you need to recreate the storage scenario. I would definitely leave the tray off and park it for a few days. The pan gasket is pretty good and I've seen them reused and didn't leak.

It is cold now, and it is being stored until the tires arrive, so hopefully it will recreate itself.
