Question Recommendations on where to buy Glass Interior Buttons

I searched the forum but didn't see anything recent.
I need 4 more to complete my set in glass (A/C, recirculate, hazard & rear defroster).
The ones I am looking for are glass instead of plastic (found on some later DB9's that I will retrofit into my 2007 Vantage).

Thanks in advance,
Ryan aka 007V8Vantage

I don't think those switches ever existed in their glass versions. If I recall, Bamford Rose was making custom ones on request, but they were fairly expensive. Like $300 each or so.

Thanks yes that explains why the four I'm missing were the ones never made OEM.
The console refresh design no longer used them (i.e. relocated those buttons and/or to ***** etc - A/C, Recirc, Hazard, Rear Window Defroster).
The bamford rose site does custom make them:
https://bamfordrose.com/road-car-upg...-908e1535-065c

I have a couple unmarked ones I never installed into the seats that I will likely use as an alternative for now.
No one else drives my car, so I will know what the unmarked second button on the console beside the parking assist button does...
It's either a rear window defroster or passenger seat ejector button! (a good conversation starter)

Those are part number AD33-062A00-BB

Will the unmarked substituted button functionally work?
Likely not, maybe only in the gas door release, glove box release, seatback release and no others as they are a release button not an on/off button.
Anyways, whatever I end up doing that works, I will provide the info on my build thread around page 40:

Cheers,
Ryan

I hope you find what you're looking for. I have them in my 13 and cannot imagine an Aston Martin without them. It completes the jewel like look of the interior.

Is the replacement of the buttons a DIY job? I would replace my plastic with glass if I could do it myself.
Any how-to videos, etc?

Thanks, as always,

Denny

Very easy diy but buttons are very pricey

Thanks, Handy. Does the waterfall need to be removed?

I'd advise not to use pry tools for the waterfall...I didn't need them, and the risk of damaging expensive bits is high. I was able to reach behind the flip-up nav panel (after the springs had been disconnected) and pushed the waterfall up at a front corner to pop it free. Make sure to place a soft towel between the waterfall and the windshield since the two aren't designed to ever meet, and used blue painters tape to protect the leather. The rest of the process is straight forward, just be careful. The edges of the waterfall and center stack are sharp.

There are a number of DIY threads on the topic, both on 6speed and Pistonheads. I'd recommend grabbing a cup of coffee and going through as many as you can before starting.

Check out the pictures of each switch on astonbits to screen for physical compatibility of the connectors (i.e., compare your blanks to the ones you're looking to replace). Next I'd look at the wiring diagrams. Alternatively, you could just dive right in by trial fitting, but probably not a horrible idea to preview what issues you may encounter.

What if you don't have a "flip-up Nav Panel" I would like to see you do it without plastic trim removal tools

The correct way is to use a tool that goes thru the vents, see here. Using plastic trim removal tools and prying it up from the sides WILL damage the leather by leaving permanent indentations...
https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...neer-tool.html

some folks at pistonheads have come up with other more ingenious ways, like using a bit of nylon strap to pull and tug it up from the corners.

Thanks, yes I ended up taking the original plastic assembly apart and reassembled it with the glass button into the original housing and switch.
Not sure why I didn't think of this before, but when there was no response on the website for my quote request - I got creative

great idea. i wonder if we can source just the glass button cover...

would love to do this but for me, really not worth cost for whole new switch...I really only use reverse... ha ha ha
