Major Service Amount

I have a 2010 Aston Vantage V-8 with 15,000 miles on it. The dealer gave me the following quote and I am wondering if this is in line?

Perform major annual service w/ oil, filter, drain plugs, wipers, cabin filters, air filters, brake fluid and spark plugs. All recommendations are based on vehicle age and minimal service history.
Repair Estimate:
$3104.09

Seems high to me.....thoughts?

Thanks

Eh, sounds pretty close for a dealer...I think previous owner's major service on my car at the dealer was ~4k for all that plus transmission fluid.

Obviously, you can get all that work done for MUCH less.

average is about $1800 from local dealer. most of cost is labor for checks and inspections, e.t.c.

I do my own annual service for under $200 and used the extra dollars to by a quick jack...

I take my vantage to dealer for brake flush...$200 includes ASM clutch flush as well... every two years

no need to do spark plugs annually...

I would pass on spark plugs at 15k miles. AM recommends 70k miles. That probably cuts the bill $800 or more.

If you are able, do it yourself. Redpants.lol has the oil change kits and fluids and I believe you can get that done for under 300. Brake/clutch fluid is pretty straight forward and easier if you have the bottle to do it yourself or just need a second person to pump the brakes while you open and close bleeder. Avg indie shop for a 1 year service is around 1800 and the dealer is slightly higher mid 2000s ish.....

I second saving the money and buying quickjacks or something like this.

Agreed. Unless his 2010 has not had the coil packs or spark plugs done. Recommend mileage or years and since we will never put the necessary miles on these cars, maybe every 7 year will come before then.

How much are they charging for wipers? That one you can do yourself; get the Bosch Icons. They're easier to fit than the OEM Bosch model. Air filters are expensive and pain to do, but probably need it at 15K.

I wouldn't do spark plugs just yet. Run a bottle of Techron through a tank of gas first. Low 2's without the spark plugs.

Oh yea, I agree with this. Spark plugs don't really corrode much just sitting in air, they just erode with usage (correlated to miles), and 15k miles is really low for iridium plugs. Peninsula European told me the coil packs don't go bad either so replacing them as preventative maintenance might be overkill too (esp since they're not hard to access). The dealer didn't replace coil packs on my car when the PO got that done.

I'm not really sure engine air filters need to be replaced at 15k TBH, I think that's a 30k service item, and the factory service intervals are kind of aggressive.

I just had my 2010 V8 with 12,000 miles, serviced at a main dealer here in the UK and it was around £750. The dealer agreed that due to the mileage the standard 10 years/70,000 mile service wasn't really appropriate, so we agreed what needed doing, and that was all they did, so it was £750. If your dealer can't have a similar grown-up conversation about what needs doing, then take the car somewhere else.

I see great advertised prices on service for UK dealers in AMOC magazines. Much better pricing than US for service. You're lucky!

That age you might consider coolant and power steering fluids also, likely never been changed.

Similar to you I had minimal history and paid $1100 for an indie shop to flush all the fluids first time around. Oil, PS, brakes and coolant.

Air filter likely needs a change, not hard per se but time consuming. Cabin filter you could do yourself with a better quality non AM part in 10 minutes.
