V8 Vantage Roadster door window catching on rubber gasket

My new-to-me 2007 Vantage Roadster has had a problem with the door window catching on the window trim from day 1. The window does drop slightly when I open the door, and I've run the 'window calibration' procedure a dozen times to make sure! But that isn't the real problem here. The window is going inside of this rubber gasket along the trailing edge, so opening the door is a challenge. You have push really hard push the window out of this 'catch'. First, can anyone tell me or show how the window should look here? Does it sit on top of this gasket of go inside of it? And is the gasket too far forward, then? I don't see an obvious adjustment here. Both doors have this same problem.

Here is the same door fully closed. The above pic shows it just before being released from the rubber gasket as I pull it open.
