DB9 Rattle Question

Is anyone familiar with this noise my DB9 makes upon shut down? Seems to be coming from the front of the car. I've seen posts from Bamford Mike and Stuart at Velocity describing the source of some common DB9 rattles, but I am not sure if this is the same sort of rattle they're talking about.

Have any of you dealt with this and if so, what was the fix?

Sorry, can't hear anything abnormal. Could it be the viscous fan slowing down and stopping?

That's fair, to be honest I had always assumed it was normal til recently. Likely a dumb question, but what fan are you referring to when you say viscous fan?

Thanks for your reply!

Possibly though I distinctly heard the electric fans winding down yesterday without any fuss. This sound occurs the moment I remove the key and the engine shuts off. It's an abrupt and short sound. It's also consistent and sounds exactly the same each time.

I'm hoping to get the car on a lift this week and see what we can find out.

Twin electric motors, there is no coupling that would make that noise. There is a mechanical damper on the flywheel that could make a similar noise. Its spring assisted and they like to get rusty and stick together. WD-40 thru a access hole may help the diagnosis.

Would that be the so-called drive plate? I believe I read that it's common for those springs in the "drive plate" to rattle loose, sometimes due to misfire, but also due to a higher idle which AM then released an update to lower the idle to around 750rpm. I ask because I noticed my idle typically takes around 862 and dips to 750ish on occasion (another issue to look into).

Mine makes a similar noise and I believe it's the drive plate rattle based on what I've read from Bamford Rose. I could be wrong, but I though the idle update was to raise, not lower the idle so it would be smoother.
