I recently had my car PPF-ed and the shop didn't do the best job reattaching the Aston Martin script to the back bumper. It's pretty clearly off center and not 100% level, and the letterspacing is too tight. They offered to redo it after I pointed it out, but given the so-so attention to detail in other aspects of my experience, I'm skeptical whether they'd actually get it close enough to satisfy my OCD, so I'm just doing to have them remove it and plan to reaffix it myself. I've spent part of my career in design and have a soft spot for typography, so I'm cursed with noticing details that many others wouldn't.
Could I get someone with a car in stock condition to take a picture of the lettering in the back with a ruler under it so I have a reference for the proper letterspacing? Figured I could use that to mark up a piece of masking tape and use that as a reference to get everything as exact as possible. Here's what I'm hoping to get:
I've considered leaving it off but, to my eyes, the backend looks a bit empty without it, so would like to respect the original design intent.
I fully understand your desire to have the symmetry perfect as I am the same. Just had custom floor mats made for $525.00 and the Aston wings were not properly aligned and they will be going back.
You have two options. Have the script removed and have that area re-PPF’ed. Personally, I do not like the Aston Martin Script and would spec one without it as I think it looks much more elegant with just the wings.
If you decide to have the script, again have them remove the misaligned script and re-PPF that area. Order a new Aston script which will be properly spaced on the sticky backing and is easy to apply. Make the company that PPF’ed your Aston pay for this and reapply the script ourself.
Here you go. Sorry but couldn't find a ruler. Just FYI I had the same issue when I had ppf placed. The installer couldn't reapply the same lettering due to adhesive pads made the letters stick out too far and adhesive on letters was not tacky enough to keep on . Installer had to reorder new letters which cost $800. I like the lettering. Also felt it was needed to distinguish from all the Chryslers and genesis out there .

@MAUMAU I was able to remove the script myself pretty easily with some floss and goo gone without impacting the PPF. It was looking janky enough that I just couldn't wait. As much as I probably should have the shop redo this, I just don't want to leave the car with them any more than I need to especially when this is something I know I will do a better job with. I might see if they can just give me whatever adhesive tape they'd use to save me the trouble of buying my own.
I know the easiest thing to do would be to just leave it off, but I find the lettering — on my color combo — looks better to my eyes. Something about the large expanse of white bumper looks kind of naked without it, and I think the black decklid accent might have something to do with it too. On a darker car like in Coobie's pic, I could go either way.
The base of the 1st leg of the M in Martin is the center line. Always lay the M first.... the line under "Aston Martin" in the wings is the vertical center line...
lay down tape... the 4 inch mark should land center wing... lay the m first, then a then n.... fill in the other letters...
