How to remove the cigarette lighter from the front of a DB9?

I have a 2007 DB9 with the smokers option (the glass ashtray is cool - I think it is lalique). No fear - I haven't smoked in it. However, my lighter is dead. I have checked the lighter and there is no voltage. I checked the fuses, and all seem good (and a pain to get to). How do I remove the lighter? I want to have power so I can connect a USB port and have it play music through the radio. I am hoping there is either a fuse that is blown on the bottom of the lighter (common) or it has been disconnected. Any ideas?

Thanks

Scott

there's a youtube video called "Aston Martin DB9 Console and NAv Bezel Removal" that may be helpful. i didn't watch it, but there may be other's of a similar nature that could be helpful.

i feel obligated, although you are probably already aware, that some 12v outlets on cars are switched with the ignition and some are hot all the time. it varies even within the same car when multiple 12v outlets are present. my 8v8 vantage, for example, has several 12v outlets and some are switched while others are not.
