Vanquish vs DB9 GT

Hi there,
would be great if anybody can give me an opinion on this.

I am looking to a 2016 Vanquish and a DB9 GT, both second hand cars. DB9 with very low mileage, while Vanquish is literally new. Any thoughts about both cars? Vanquish is obviously some 30% more expensive.

Also, any view on taking a 5 years old Vanquish that has not moved in all these years, even if it has been always at an official dealership? I guess is not the best for any kind of car.

thanks a lot

More front leg room in the Vanquish. Bigger boot. All CF body.

Buy the one you like more.

Vanquish has a better interior.

I would also choose the Vanquish.

If price is not an issue, I would definitely go for the Vqs. At least, if you like the better sound, handling, etc. It is not as big a difference as between older DB9 and DBS, but it is still worthwhile. Better test drive both, and you will know immediately (if not, then buy the one that suits you most in other aspects).

BTW, If you look at the price difference between moment of buying and selling later, it will be a non-issue, since the Vqs will depreciate less then the DB9 GT. And since there is negatieve interest on cash at the moment, go for the more expensive one! 😎

I like the looks of the DB9GT more, but Vanquish is their ultimate. Perhaps look for a Vanquish that has been more regularly driven? Looks for leaks on either one.

Thanks for all answers

What about the Vanquish 6 speed versus the 8 speed? Is the 6 speed something to avoid?
thanks

There is nothing wrong with the 6spd it's the same ZF 6HP that was used in many makes and models, just in a fancy transaxle casing. The ZF 8 may accelerate better due to the gear ratios but the sound of the V12 winding out through it's rev range in the longer gears is not a bad thing either.

As mentioned above, try out both and choose what suits you. Almost no AM gets driven as much as a car should to be "good for it".

I really like the ZF 6 speed the way Aston has it set up. Plenty quick for regular driving and the downshifts are dramatic sounding when they need to be. I found the DBX to have too many gears to enjoy shifting in manual mode. It's like the top 3 gears were hardly used except hwy cruising.
