Aston Martin Service in LA / SoCal?

Figured I'd get the oil changed on my 2020 Vantage soon since I'm nearing end of the initial 900 mi "take it easy" period but more so because I'm assuming the factory oil has been in the car for a couple of years at this point despite it being new, and it should probably get changed.

Called Pasadena Motor Cars which appears to be a local Aston indie and they quoted $700+ for this which seems...high. I put a call in to the dealer and am still waiting to hear back, but not optimistic it'll be any better.

I've seen Raging Bull recommended — they're a bit of a hike for something small like this but I'll give them a call too. Anyone else have a place in SoCal they'd recommend, ideally LA/SFV/South Bay? Since this is the most basic routine work I just want someone who I can trust to not f- up the car and put in the right oil (and the right amount). Though, I feel like you can't even take that for granted these days.

Being one of the newer Astons w/ the AMG engines I'm also wondering if I should just look for a Mercedes specialist indie for this job. Curious if anyone has experiences there.

sorry, no help here....

but i bought my used 2007 8v8 vantage a couple years ago in san jose. they wanted to sell me four free synth oil/filter changes along with the car (autonation) for an extra $350. figured i couldn't buy the materials for that, so i bit. after a 6000 mile cross-country trip, soon after purchase, i had the oil/filter change done as per autonation's instructions performed at an east bay BMW dealership in freemont, CA., IIRC.

are people really paying 700 or so for an oil change?

I know a couple. Friends owned. But I am curious, what's a fair price in your opinion for this job to be done right?

I did. I usually DIY when I have the time. But sometimes life comes at you fast and I just like to be "stupid" for that moment. Drop it off and forget about it. In return, the dealer gave me a DBS loaner for 4 days. Still a good deal IMO.

I'm sure there are plenty of Mercedes places close to you that have the basic oil and filter on hand to do a basic oil change. Just be sure you document the information for warranty purposes.

In my mind, I had assumed this would be in the $300-400 range. That still strikes me as on the high end for an oil change at an indie shop, even for cars like this, but I guess some luxury tax is fair here. Unless I'm missing something it's not like this car is using gold crush washers or $200 of magic oil.

anything comes to exotics parts are ridiculous- drain plug $30+ oil filter $65+ oil around $15per qrt, when you add up you have more than $300 for parts, add 10.25% sales tax and min of $150+ labor that should give you an idea what you should expect to pay @ indi shop. Obviously dealer will cost you more on labor probably around $300+ since they will give you free Starbucks coffee & maybe loaner car...

I would think any Mercedes dealer would do it. I checked a few videos on YouTube and the Mercedes GT and it is a bit of a hassle. you need to bring the engine up to temperature and then have only minutes to drain the oil. But maybe that is the dry sump 4.0, it wasn't clear.

Previous owner had oil change done at Valencia European for around $300. While I can or cannot recommend them, he did have a few services performed by them so he must have been OK with the place. Did a brake flush for $210 as well, which sounds very reasonable. Good luck.

I figured that might be true of the older AJ37-powered Astons but with the new AMG M177 engines that are shared with a C/E/S63 Benzes, assumed it'd be a similar cost/price point. I'll probably end up taking it to the dealer and have it on the official record since it's not that much more ($750) and it's a relatively nice place to be, and I assume they're going to do a proper job. The couple of indie shops I called up didn't inspire a ton of confidence.

None of us are hurting for money here owning $200K cars, but I just hate overpaying for things as much as the next guy.

I'm in the SFV area. I do most of my own maintenance on my 2009 Aston Martin Vantage. The oil change is time consuming, but not hard to do. I can help you if you like. Let me know and then I can do my research!
