DB7 silver interior fascia trim - whats going on?

What do we think about this?

One view is a badly prepared re-paint job, the seller’s view is it was a special millennia trim…

The grain on the finish doesn't look like paint, it looks very much like a wrap.

The poor surface looks like they allowed grit to get under the wrap the just left it there

The natural wood finish on the DB7 fits the era/style of the car so well--my guess is you would end up replacing this if you buy--an expensive fix.

The trim can be hydro dipped (by a reputable company) back to original finish or to carbon fibre finish, or lots of other finishes 🤣 for £330 GBP. You would rather not have to but perhaps better than the price of replacement.

My understanding is that the trim options on the DB7 Vantage when new were the wood trim or carbon trim.

I’ve seen the silver trim on DB7 Vantages before.

Rang the parts department for the original selling main dealer, gave them the chassis number and they accessed the build sheet for this car. Original trim was wood trim so it’s either been painted or wrapped.
