VantageAston is infamous around these parts
HI everyone, I've been reading this thread and have a simple question:

Why would you use the mr12v adapter over the bluetooth BOVEE adapter? It works pretty much flawlessly, the only gripe I have is that you can't stop or pause audio as the system sends a start command, so you have to switch off the radio. Apart from that, I can't see any benefit?

Would love to hear why this is used?

Early Vantages (before 2008 I believe) did not have the iPod connector so BOVEE wouldn't be an option.

Well, the short answer in my case is that an uninstalled Mr 12 kit came with the car when I purchased it. 😀 The longer answer is the BOVEE adaptors are used to add Bluetooth to older iPod interfaces and my 2004-build-date DB-9 has no such interface, nor is it configured for adding the factory iPod interface that came along a few years later. I don’t have the 30-pin connector the BOVEE ties into. I don’t even have an AUX port. Just an old fashioned AN/FM/CD player/changer.
