Eying a 2012 DBS, 10k miles, Advice?

Happy NYE everyone! Currently daily driving a 2015 Granturismo Sport Spyder… and contemplating trading (Up? Sideways?) for a little older, but fewer miles AM DBS. Found a nice looking one in Raleigh with 10k miles on it. Don’t know much about these cars, any key things to keep a keen eye out for? Any reason not to make the trade? (Thinking the AM will cost me about 2x what the GT was last year). Cheers and happy 2022.

DB9 owner here. I'm 15 minutes from Raleigh. If you need a an unbiased opinion, let me know. Don't count on me for a PPI. Just a trained owner's ear & eye. Happy 2022 and good luck!!

Thank you, bobdisp… sorry for the long wait for
reply, have been skiing! In any event… they still seem to have this car there… gosh it’s been maybe 2-3 months now, perhaps all the poor winter weather up there is making is hard to move a convertible this time of year! Anyway, if you’re looking for something to do on a random Friday or weekend, love to hear your opinion on it!

Aside, the guys down in Atlanta at Audi Atlanta now have a 2014 Vanquish (coupe) for the same asking price… few more miles, but I am somewhat intrigued by that one as well, given newer technology and such. Though if you tell me the DBS is going to be a more raw sports feel, I may like that better. Thanks!

In my opinion, the only reason one should buy a DBS is if they want the Bond nostalgia coupe with a manual trans. Otherwise just get the db9.2 or Vanq2, its the better car for almost the same price.

I agree but the DBS with its V12 Manual will be worth twice as much in 10yrs as the others I believe

I'd take a Vanquish, DB9 GT, or DB11 V12 over the DBS.

Have made a pivot to Vanquish…

Eying a 2014 Vanquish Volante that has peaked my interest more, perhaps, than the slightly older, same miles, and same cost, DBS… I suppose I loose the whole Bond nostalgia dynamic, but most on the forum here seem to view the newer technology, higher power Vanquish as a better vehicle… for me, whatever the pick, it will be a daily driver. Though, as I work from home much of the time, and play some golf on the side, annual miles are pretty low… would usually expect to hang on to a car for about 2 years.

If anyone thinks I’m off my rocker for the switch, speaks now of forever hold your peace! (I am practicing that as I am getting married in Sept this year!!) Cheers and good Sunday to all.

If you intend on getting rid of it in a couple years, you’ll lose very little if you buy a manual DBS. If you go automatic, then get a Vanquish.

I concur… the DBS I would do is an auto…. Thus, feels like a better path to go Vanquish.

Either way, I'm going to the Rolls dealership in Raleigh to check out the DBS and the DB11 they have for sale. Oh BTW, they also have some Ferraris I'll check out while I'm there.......

That sounds like a splendid week! I am heading up there this coming Saturday to visit my daughter and watch her play Lacrosse on the weekend. Maybe I’ll sample it too unless you buy it first!
