I honestly wanted black since I have silver and the contrast is perfect, but black wheels are very difficult to see the details. That's why a dark rubbed bronze would give similar contrast but the details are shown. Especially for expensive wheels.
I have not installed H&R springs yet, but I hear good things. I talked with the company R&D team and they stated that those springs were designed with Astons OEM dampers and struts in mind. I agree they are the best bang for the buck.

Here an example of tungsten silver with bronze wheels.

Hey John! Yes we did the F1 Aston Martin release party at the DC location together and we met at the bagel shop where I heard your 13 vantage with X-Pipe. Hope to meet up more this year. Lots of events I am planning so stay tuned. Click to get notifications or frequently check the group for event information.

I would like to go to 20's, but don't want to go with a shorter tire wall. If I go up in tire size, then it would throw the odometer off. I wonder if there is a way to adjust the speedometer to account?
I am going to stick with 19s since that doesnt change the odometer readings. If anything I'd like to go smaller to 18s with a meatier tire. I've always liked that look. But in all honesty, most likely stick with 19s as I already have the tires and offsets spec'd. H&R springs will lower ~0.75" and with the 19s and offset it will be a nice tuck and flush with the fender look.

Tone is very similar to my setup and I'm very curious how much difference they would be in loudness side by side.
I have to think the headers impact that greatly but from the video it doesn't sounds it..

Super cool though enjoy.
Thanks. Glad you liked and hope it was helpful. I will admit that it is extremely a PITA to film as I also just want to crank out the job. It adds a few hours to the job documenting, changing camera position, etc. However, Im a visual leaner and Id like to give back to the community with work that hasnt been documented or give additional perspective for someone who is interested in DIY.

The exhaust manifolds really opened up the tone. I am fortunate enough to have a large Aston communities near me so I get to hear all sorts of permutations and combinations of setups.

I love the HRE as well but I am leaning towards going forged over flow form. For the price and performance APEX is one of the best. HRE forged can get a little out of hand.

Heres an example of FF01 but imagine bronze

These look really really nice in the dark bronze! Your right 19's probably the best way to go. How do you determine offsets to bring wheels out, but not too far?

when i asked about a set of flow formed, i was told they have no proper fitment for an AM v8v but now seeing their sku list of flow form, I think a set can work but may require hub rings.

I read that Tungsten Silver has brown or bronze specs in the paint, and with a little imagination, I can occasionally see this in the proper light.

I think those bronze wheels may make the Tungsten Silver really pop and highlight those brown/bronze specs.

Thank you again Andrew for taking the time and effort to document this transformation.

I have looked at a lot of wheels because like you stated, its a commitment and wheels can make or break a cars look and performance. I've asked a lot of other owners to see which offset works for them and a style that matches mine where its flush with the fender (Not too far in and not too far sticking out). I have also reached out to the wheel companies to see what they recommend and what they have seen/experienced. I do not want to get spacers so the wheel will be much wider. Think 19x10 and 19x11 front and rear running a 265 and 295/305 tire.

Yes so I will be buying the mustang fitment that Apex sells since I dont think I can wait until they make it specific for the Aston. The mustang bore is slightly bigger and they sell hub rings.

That is really interesting to hear that the Tungsten has those specs. I will look hard and I agree that the bronze looks stunning where it is a nice contrast and you can see the details in the wheel. Once spring hits, I will enjoy the exhaust mods some more. Then I will install the springs and wheels later this year and that should finish off the mods for the Aston.

1st year: Enjoy the car and get used to the power and handling. Minor mods.
2nd year: Focus on power mods
3rd year: Handling and Aesthetics mods. Wheels/Suspension/Carbon Fiber parts
4th year: Keep the car running and maybe lightweight flywheel and dual clutch. ATM the increase in torque has not given it any trouble.

Currently, I have the H&R Springs in and plan to install once the wheels and tires come in. If I dont like the spring ride height or handling, my next option is just to go to Coilovers KWV3. The wheels, Ive narrowed down to the HRE FF01 or Apex EC-7RS. I think I will go forged over flow form in the end.
Both great choices, I have the Apex wheels in anthracite and I love them (18 inch)

Yes! I love them. I was contemplating going 18s with meatier tires like yours. I was going to purchase the EC-7 but they just released a fully forged EC-7RS line up.

How do you like the 18s. Can you let me know your setup? (Springs/Coilovers, offset, tires?)

Love the color of your car too!

Thanks! Yeah the EC-7RS wasn't available when I got mine, the regular EC-7 is still fairly light, especially in 18 inch size, but I definitely would have gone forged if it was available at the time. And you really can't beat the price for a wheel of this quality. I like the design especially for the v8 vantage because it's almost an exact copy of the BBS wheels that the Vantage GT2s ran (although those were center-lock of course). So the design works really well.

Apex obviously is more limited with the fitments but one of their options was almost exactly what I wanted so it worked out:

Rear: 18x11 ET52
Front: 18x9.5 ET 38

Don't have a good front profile to show exact offset but here's a 3/4 view of mine (although wheels are dirty, full of brake dust here):

As it turns out, this comes out to be very close to the set up on the N24 and GT4 cars, just a few mm off front and rear, which was exactly what I was going for. The pictures above are as you see the offsets I gave, but because I am a little ****, after taking those pictures I put 4mm spacers on the rears to make it exactly the same offset of the GT4/N24 cars. The difference is so small that it makes almost no difference visually, I could have left it with no spacers at all and I would have been fine. I don't have any pictures with the spacers on, but you can search pictures of the GT4 and N24 cars.

I could have gone 18 or 19 inch, but I like the look of the 18 inch wheels because that's what the N24 and GT4 cars have. That, with meatier tires, gives it a more motorsport look in my opinion. But Ali Robertson has 19 inch EC-7 wheels on his blue v8 vantage, with what I believe are the same offsets, and it looks great. For some reason I can't easily find photos of it on google but you may have seen it. If not I have them somewhere on my desktop (saved for inspiration lol) that I can send to you.

Tires are Micheline Pilot Super Sport XL, 295/35 rear and 255/40 front. I don't recall the exact diameter, but with the taller profile, I believe the diameter ends up being slightly smaller than the v8 vantage stock tires (on a 4.3 at least), but it's very slightly larger than the diameter of a V12 Vantage stock tires. So pretty much in the range of the OEM tire diameter.

I have BC coilovers with Swift springs that I purchased from Rich at Redpants. It's fairly aggressive low set up so I have to be careful over speedbumps, but it's not my daily driver so it doesn't inconvenience me too much.
