Follow-up post: Power Steering Flush

So, last weekend, I did the 'poor mans' Power Steering flush... My fluid was brownish green, so Pentosin CHF-11s. (If you fluid is red/brown, you still have Texaco Cold Climate, so good idea to change it out). However, it was not marked as such on the cap or manual. I Made the quick fix to the owners manual. I also ordered a replacement cap (Clearly says CHF-11S on it vs. ATF) from a BMW parts specialist along with a new O-ring. However, After I did the PMF, I saw the AM TSB on this and the fact they suggested "Lubrizol" as a requirement to eliminate a squeal. Ugh... So I try to track that own at BMW/Jag/Land Rover dealers.. No help. The AM dealer Parts guy just hung up on me.. (Shocking). I found some at a MB dealer, but I could not get Lubrizol to confirm both were the same. (Turns out they are, the AM Tech line confirmed it for me), but by then I found the Jag 'juice' locally. I did the right flush late yesterday,,,per the AM TSB. It's like 4 pages! AM only pays .75 of an hour (book rate). Think it took me like 3 hours to do at my (OCD) pace. Worth it? Yes, steering feels better/lighter (somewhat); a little more 'active', think that's the benefit of new vs. old hydraulic fluid. No noise what so ever. Happy with it so far.. In the last month, I did this, plus tires, and a lower margin drivers door seal. Once I get the headlight washer cover, I'll be all set until I do brakes F&R and e-brake pads.

Tom-

This is the MB 'juice'

Would you happen to remember the part number of the Jag juice?
Thank you.

it’s no longer available from Jaguar directly. Mercedes carries it, I actually have a spare bottle. No longer have my Aston. You could try John’s jags in Dallas, they may have some. It’s an NL a part for most people send me a PM if you want to buy my bottle. good luck.

sure good luck with it. You’ll also want to get the instructions as well for the process and I would buy 2 quarts of Pentosin CH 11 S.
