Going through the firewall. Recommendations?

I'm at the point in my camera installation project where I need to get from the cabin (specifically, from the fusebox in the right side passenger footwell) to the engine compartment so I can run a camera wire to the grill. Anyone been there and have recommendations...the more specific the better?
After that I'll be looking for a way to run a wire from the video interface (connected to the nav disc player under the left rear seat) to the reversing camera at the rear bumper. My car is a LHD '06 DB9 Volante, so the configuration at the boot/trunk is different from the coupe. Also, it has the 900W Linn audio.
Thanks for any input!

The engine wiring harness goes through the firewall so you have it lucky. The challenge is actually finding the harness. If you look at the far right hand side of the footwell (really just inside the body) at the top of the footwell you will see a number of multi-pin connectors. A flashlight, a mirror and a willing partner who is a contortionist will be helpful. You can see where the harness goes through the firewall, safely encased in a rubber molded plug that keeps fumes out of the passenger compartment.

You can obviously also find it in the engine bay but it is remarkably well hidden. Once you find it you will want to carefully use a piece of plastic to feed your cables through. I had my entire harness out of the car which made it easy to add my wires to the harness. Good luck!

i installed a front radar in my 2007 vantage that needed connectivity from the black box that i mounted in the cabin. i found a hole in the firewall pretty much as the previous post indicates. i had to work under the dash completely blind, using only the fingers on one hand. once found, IIRC, i made good use of a coat hanger to punch another hole through the foam insulation that surrounded whatever wires were already running through the hole. don't worry, that hole is well protected from the elements.

it came out behind the right front wheel liner, which of course had to be removed to find the end of the coat hanger. it, the hole through the firewall, again involved working with one hand and completely blind. i bent the end of the coat hanger into a loop and tied a string to it, then pulled the string back into the cabin. from there it was not too difficult to attach the wire for the radar to the end of the string in the cabin and pull the radar wire back into the wheel well.

Thanks also, 61mga! I actually find it pretty that here we are - you at 66 according to your stats, AM4884 at 60, and me at 69 - still willing to contort and risk our bodies to get the job done! I'm proud of Team Sexagenarian!

Why not getting a wireless transmitter?
I installed a wireless rear view kamera (on another car) this weekend.
Quite practical...

I wanted (1) to use the existing nav monitor and (2) have the feeling of a "permanent" almost-factory installation. But I did consider wireless...
