I paid about $500 for mine at the dealer when my battery died and the car was locked.

I got one from Aston Martin works in Newport Pagnell, about £100.They will take an order over the phone and post it to you. You'll need to send them a copy of your V5 for proof of ownership but also to identify the correct key for your car.

You can get one here https://astonmartinbits.com/models/5...age/parts/5077 if you're in the UK they will cut it as per VIN. Outside the UK....

...Any auto locksmith can make a Tibbe key (ford/volvo) using a lockpick that reads the code from a device they put into your lock, they read the numbers off that and cut any tibbe key blank. Im in the same situation, and cost in canada is $175 ($130 USD) including the key blank.

Dealer wanted over $500 in Canada to create a key for me.

Hope that helps

unfortunately the car was locked shut in a very tight spot in my parking garage. Could not open the car to access the battery or open the hood to jump it. Ive learned since that i could havw removed the front grill and opened the hood for a jump. Oh well.

Short answer No. Batteries last a long time so no need if it's working. Message will display in the IC indicating to change it. Key programming is retained in the car and you should never have an issue when replacing the cr2032 battery.
