Head light fitment
Head light fitment
Hi All, can any one tell me if I can use an hid head light in my standard halogen head light 2006 V8V.? I mean does the wiring connector from car end suit standard light body, do the halogen lamp holders fit in the hid body, and lastly are the internals working, the indicators and park leds are the same as standard light. I hope this makes sense. Thanks in advance.

You will not have headlamp leveling function as the module and sensors are not fitted. The main beams will default to the lowest position. If you want HID you could try aftermarket bulbs and ballast as suggested above in your original lamp housing.
Thank you Downeaster 1,8tech and jdoubleu, for your info, so I can go ahead fitting HID headlights in my V8V and I guess the HID I procure have the same flashers and park lamps as my standard , is this correct.
+1 on the LEDs. I haven't done it on my Aston yet, but I did do it on several other cars previously. The only caveat I would offer is that the heat of the bulb is no longer there so if you drive in snow it will not de-ice the lens like an HID, and likely won't burn off condensation either.

I replaced halogen on my Silverado, both low and high beam have tiny built in fans to keep them cool. Don't think ice or condensation would be a problem. Here is an interesting video on both HID & LED. There are a lot of cheap bulbs out there, make sure you get good ones. These guys make LED to replace those in the Vantage with halogen lights. Not cheap, but you know you will get a good product.
