I have decided against Aston Installations Apple CarPlay upgrade because I am concerned about long term support. Instead, I have been experimenting and searching for quite some time for an iPhone mount that fits my needs. I believe I have finally found one... Its not for the faint hearted. Did not want any wires to be visible so this mount only holds the phone it does not charge it.

now, that's "SOME assembly required". i simply bought an "Un-ultimate" one that fits in the CD slot. ...i'm a chicken, i guess.

 

As did I…works great..but does obscure the console a bit

 

I have a mag mount on the vent. Covers up the sport/ comfort mode button I never use. I'm right handed so I needed the mount on the right side of the wheel.

No problems blocking the vent. The cabin is small.

 

I am ambidextrous (smile)
