Loose Parking Brake Handle

Hey all,
The metal grip portion of my parking brake handle isn't fitted tightly and will sometimes slide forward, covering the button. Operationally, it's not a huge issue, but it's annoying. Has anyone experienced anything similar, or have a fix short of replacing the handle?

Remove the aluminum handle from the lever, apply gaffer tape (1 layer) an tap the handle in place with rubber mallet. If it's not tight enough add another layer. Avoids messy glue and you know it's fixed immediately.
