Loud Bang
Loud Bang
I pulled into a shopping center parking lot a few days ago after a long (~250 mile) drive and when I pulled in I heard a loud bang from behind me. The entry to the parking lot is on an incline. I went into the shop, came back out and when the car started, it was having trouble shifting up, as in the indicator would go up but the car wouldn't actually shift up. Downshifting worked without a problem. After I got home, I went for a very short (~1 mile) to see if it was still happening and everything seemed normal, but I'm not going to risk taking the car out again until I get this sorted out. The car has paddle shifters and the clutch is new as of less than a month ago. Since getting the car back, at this point there have been no issues. Ideas?

Is your car a Roadster? Sheer panels can make wild noises with chassis flex, especially if not torqued well. I'm confused by you saying transmission would not upshift, even though the counter did. Yet it downshifted ok? I would take it back to the installer for a visual inspection and a code read for peace of mind.
Hopefully it's one of those. Maybe I hit the pavement a bit hard and that shook up the clutch which then corrected itself. I'm going to have my mechanic take a quick look when he replaces the ignition coils and plugs this week.
