Hope Florida members have thought through this and are prepared as Milton is no joke!
My Aston is tucked away deeply into its safe place. The rest of the property has been hurricane prepped...so we'll see you on Thursday!...or Friday depending on the power supply.
Praying for all in the storms path. After finishing all the storm preparations I spent the day in the garage detailing the Vanquish. Want to stay off the roads to let those who are evacuating have the roads.
We are blessed. Made it through with no damage at our home or any of our children’s homes. Once again praying works wonders. Hope everyone else made it through ok.
First, we came out very well. Some minor wind damage, almost no rain. We lost power and as of late Thursday, still no power and no promises. We have a generator that powers the whole house which leads to an interesting story.
We were not directly in line with the eye of the hurricane, but estimate about 15 miles off. The phenomenon of the eye passing is well known, but this was our first hurricane and even hearing about it, we forgot.
So, as the eye is approaching the wind is raging, then suddenly it gets calm, so much so, you think it is over....but it's not. The eye is a rather dead zone, then as it passes the whipping wind picks back up with an even greater vengeance.
We lost power before the eye passed. When it became calm we naively thought it was over and forgot the lesson. We opened the garage, set up the generator, started it up and my wife took the dogs for a walk. She got back, we closed up and I swore suddenly and immediately there was a freight train speeding past our back yard.
We were lucky and could have had a catastrophic event as if there is a big hole in your home like an open garage, the hurricane level 3 force winds can rush in and lift the roof off the home! Now remembering what we had forgotten, we realized we were blessed, or lucky, or both!
So...generator is STILL running 20 hours later with no ETA on power restore....but we made it! and DB11 is safely tucked away, sleeping through it all.

The fact that you opened up the garage and started going about your day like it was all good and over...wow....glad to hear all turned out ok!
