V8V 2015: Common sources for road surface related Buzz from dash area?
Is there a notorious cause for a low frequency buzz that comes from the dash area of the 2011-2017 range of V8V when going over rougher asphalt? It sounds like a heat shield or similar and appears to come from the passenger side if sitting in the driver seat and vice versa when sitting in the passenger seat. I guess therefore it is a noise maker resonating inside the dash or firewall area.
No issues on smooth asphalt, only rougher textured asphalt which cause the loud buzz. I can prod around the firewall and under the car looking for something loose, but I just thought I would enquire here in case there was a notorious trouble maker.
Thanks
Philip

Apparently solved
Since the buzz has gone, it must have been
1) the fuze box in the engine compartment banging a sort of plastic wheel well cover that resonates. A small bit of sticky foam pad eliminated the play.
2) the aluminum heat shields in the primary/secondary cat region being too close to the chassis and transmitting vibration from the isolated shield to the main body of the car. A small bend was easy.
I suspect the latter, but cannot prove it.
