Is there a spot designed by AM to rest the gas cap? I am missing it if so...

Thanks all. I think I read somewhere that there's a spot designed to hold the gas cap (a work of art all by itself) in place, instead of it resting on the side of the car.
But, I cannot recall - anyone have insight into this minor - but important to me - question? TIA!

The gas tank top on my 2005 DB9 has a hole on the inside of the lid. The gas cap has a round "peg" that plugs into the hole. Holds the gas cap securely.

Thanks Bob. We're in Ocean Isle Beach until next week, so I will take a look upon our return to Virginia. Appreciate it.

My 08 vantage has the hole as well but I never use it…it throws out the fit of the flap…was constantly adjusting it to open on the button..

My 2015 DB9 has the "holding hole" as well but in that position the gas cap interferes with the pump nozzle so it cannot be used as designed. Not very well thought out, IMHO.

That's strange Import. I've my car 6 years now and never experienced that. They can be quirky....

It seems odd to me that AM didn't decide to use a flap (vinyl or similar) to use when refueling.....my 1st Porsche 3.2 Carrera Targa had one and it worked very well.
Maybe I will create my own......h'mmmmm.

Vantage Roadster and DB9 Volante have a post with a open top which holds the fuel cap very well. Can't miss it's location, maybe just didn't realize the cap fits there.

Thanks JW- I am in OIB, NC and thus can't access my car. When we return I will eyeball it. I did in fact miss the location which is why I posed the initial question. I think that the gas hose will interfere with the cap placement, but....we shall see. Thanks JW for the info.

The hole to rest the cap is not a good fit, at least on mine. I just hold the cap in one hand and put gas in with the other. It is a bad design.
