Alternate way to open gas "door"

2005 DB9. What to do if the button does not release the gas door? I had a bad dream about this. I'll spare you the details. I would think there is another way. Thanks in advance.

What I do when it happens is I go and "massage" the fuel door towards the front, to give it more clearance before I push on the button.
It usually does the trick.
Then you'd need to rework the fuel door, there is a TSB about it.

I believe there is a way to open it from the inside of the trunk as well?

Inside the trunk remove the panel near the rear. There is a cable to pull that releases it manually, but you will still probably need to fool with the lid while you do it.

On my 07 ventage, open the trunk, take off panel on the left side and you will see this plastic/glow in the dark color tab you can pull. That's how I've been gassing mine up for the last couple of years

There are videos on Youtube for various fixes. If pulling the emergency release in the trunk does not work, taking a business card and levering up gently + pulling the emergency release normally pops the door up. Seems like there are a few failures for the doors: misaligned door catching on the body(re-align at hinge), door flap solenoid weak(lube or replace), and door springs weak(replace springs).
