A-Pillar Trim Removal?

How do I fully remove my a-pillar trims? I followed Steve's (Aston1936) videos but they reference friction just holding the bottom of these in to the dash, but I don't think that's the case with mine. I know on the outside (as pictured) it looks like part of the alcantera is actually tucked and secured under the weatherstripping. On the inside, it seems like there may be another fir tree down there or something, as I can wiggle it and move it back about half an inch, but it catches onto something and can't be completely pulled out. Can anyone share their experience as to how to fully remove these and if anything is actually anchoring these down at the bottom

?

I followed Steve's guide to have my DB9 headliner re-glued. As I recall, it was just a friction fit near the dash.

The parts diagram doesn't show any fir trees or other fasteners down there. Vantage and DB9 look to be about the same. The nearest fir tree should be somewhere around the top of the windshield.

Did you pull the entire trim off when you did yours? That's what I tried to do but something really felt it was holding it on down there so I just dropped the tops like Steve recommended. Have a look at the diagram and the circles I drew. It almost looks as though there's a bottom fir tree down there, since it resembles the other fir trees that we know about in the diagram.

Yes, I totally removed mine. Both sides.

The parts diagram at scuderia shows a count of 10 fir trees. It looks like there are two pairs in the middle and one at the rear (5 per side).

If you're going after the headliner you just need them out of the way.

Maybe I just didn't tug hard enough, afraid I'd break a $1000+ piece. I'll leave them alone now that my headliner is done. Thanks for your help!
