Up until a few days ago, my top worked just fine. All of a sudden, instead of openning or closing, in this case the top is folded, upon pressing the button I get a non-stop Bip-bip-bip.
I checked the fuses, # 46 and # 69, if I remember we'll, both are fine.
Since I get some reaction from touching the button, I now assume it's not an electric issue but since the bip-bip is not accompanied with some kind of jurking or pressure build-up, I am at a loss...
Could this be a security warning with a procedure to reset?
I have heard that beeping when inadvertently pausing the lowering movement on my Vantage.
If in the down position, is your tonneau securely shut? Or possibly stuck shut somehow?
Well, I'm half in, check the picture. Left side jaw claw is frozen in the lock position. It has not stopped the full up and down movement to work before.
So I plugged my OBD scanner in both ports and got absolutely no messages from a just start the car position to one where I pressed the top button to get the bip-bip alarm on.
I recently repaired the fuel pumps in my volante. It was not uncommon when the lid was closing for one side to fail. The pin on the top would rest on top of one of the jaws (missing the opening by about 1/8 of an inch). I would reach in and push the pin back to allow it to drop in the jaw, where it would latch. Cycling it a couple of times would make it work. I note that my top really wants the car to be running to operate properly. Doing it turned off is a hit or miss depending on the state of the battery charge... As always, YMMV!
This is interesting. You are talking about the fuel pump inside the fuel tank when you speak of the pin and jaws?

The fuel tank & pumps are accessible on the volante by initiating a opening/closing of the soft top. You wait until the tonneau cover is fully up and then shut the car off. The hydraulics will slowing let the cover close, but you can stop it and block it open. The tank cover is visible.
The last act of the top being fully open or closed is the tonneau cover locking down. You have one side not properly closing/latching. If you have a partner close (or open) the top, you can observe the cover latching down. The tonneau cover has pins that point inward from the forward edge of the cover. They fit into jaws in the body of the car. The "jaws" are part 12 on this drawing: https://www.scuderiacarparts.com/par.../151/657/24041
If, as your partner is initiating an open/close of the top you can reach in below the tonneau cover and above the bod and you can easily get the pin to shift into the jaws. Once you do this, the tonneau cover will latch and close completely. I had your situation, and I was able to get the pin to latch and it worked fine from that point on.
Ok I get it. However I am dealing with 3 different problems here! First is getting the engine to fire-up. I get the starter to turn-over but it doesn't start the engine. At best I get sputters.
Second issue is the tonneau cover jaw on the left side that won't move up or down.
The third issue is the movement of the top. Since a few weeks now when I press the open/close button, I get a bip-bip-bip and no movement.
I am trying to get to the fuel pump to see if this is the reason why it won't start. It may be a fuel pressure that is the source of the non-start of the motor.
You are telling me that in order to reach the fuel pump, the top must be functional... The top won't work properly if the engine in not on... Am I caught in a vicious circle here?

Did you ever sort out the CEM, PCM, and key pairing? Until you do, the security of the car will not allow it to start. At best it might crank for a few seconds and then shut off.
I think my electronic issues are solved although I have no real way to check that.
The message "error key" is gone. The flashing red light on the dash stops flashing when I insert the key, I get crank and sputter for about 3-4 seconds if I wait 24hours since last try. After those few seconds, I get endless starter motor revolutions.
Do you think that may still be software related on could it be fuel pressure related?
