I also opted for Continental AS tires... although mine are 20"... had the U H P Michelin but very harsh with 20's and the Sport Pack set up on my Vantage.

I purchased a 2008 V8 Vantage on BaT a few weeks ago and will document maintenance and updates here. I generally DIY, so enjoy my trials and tribulations.

The car is Midnight Blue over Sahara Tan, and is a Sportshift model. I've been a manual guy for a long time, but thought this might be an interesting new experience. So far I am enjoying it.

Cosmetically it looks to be in really nice shape, with the only let down being the typical leather pealing on the dash and cracked wood trim. Mechanically, it runs well with no warning lights, but I'm going to fully reset the maintenance clock on this to give a starting point. It has some of the common foibles which I'll get into later.
Congrats on the new V8 Vantage — what a fantastic pick! Midnight Blue over Sahara Tan is an absolutely classic combo, and the car looks great despite the usual dash leather and trim quirks. Sportshift definitely takes a little adjustment compared to manuals, but it’s still a fun and engaging setup once you get used to its rhythm. Smart move doing a full maintenance refresh so you know exactly where everything stands. Looking forward to seeing your updates and DIY adventures — enjoy every mile with that V8 soundtrack!

Thanks all. The Continental DWS is a great all season tire, but a more aggressive summer tire is what I am going for here, especially given the dry climate.

Installed:
6G43-07-10056-PK x 2 - spark plugs (pack of 4)
9G33-12A366-AA x 8 - coilpacks

Torque for spark plugs is 20-30nm (not 16-20, like a popular DIY blog says...), coil pack bolt is 5-7nm.

And yes, you can get a torque wrench on the rear most spark plug. No wobble extension needed. Remove the strut brace (it's 4 bolts) and disconnect the brake pressure sensor plug.

2 bits of basic maintenance left- replacing the power steering fluid and those pesky ASM hoses + hydraulic fluid. Will flush the coolant too for good measure

If you haven't removed the lower cover under the radiator recently...you may want to take a look. I think I cleaned out about 2lbs of leaves and bugs.

Installed Bosch Icon wiper blades as well. I'm sure many of you know the trick, but hold buttons 8 & 9 in the center stack and key on. Not pictured but I picked up a set of wiper arm nut covers from a facebook group

Would those wiper arm nut covers fit other models than the Vantage?
Do you maybe have a link to the group?
Thank you.

I believe they do- my understanding is the wiper arms were updated with the last refresh of the Vantage and similar (same?) as DB9. Would recommend cross referencing the part number

Watch out these are pretty infamous for clutch issues that pop up early. get that checked ASAP. And while you're at it the timing cover gasket's another weak spot to keep an eye on.

You do not need an AMDs to bleed the asm hoses. My BMW mechanic changed my asm hoses on my 2008 SS and bled the system with his scanner. The hydraulic system is the same as a similar year BMW m3.
