Thought I'd share some shots of a new sign I just installed. I built a new 2400sqft shop (with an attached house) about 6 years ago and it feels like the garage has been getting finished ever since..taking a bit of a back seat to the house (wife) until recently.
I originally had an epoxy/flake floor coating installed, as I've had good luck with that stuff in the past, but unfortunately that wasn't the case this time. I hired a very well known outfit to do this and wasn't expecting any issues but almost immediately, the floor started to yellow. He came and refinished and it still looked like hell. Ultimately it began to peel up in some areas now. Long story short, I'm installing a porcelain tile floor in hopes of ending this floor nitemare. I'll post more photos upon completion.
Just wanted to drop some pics here of the progress and talk about this new sign I recently purchased. I've got a friend who owns a big commercial sign business and I talked him into building one of these for me. I'd seen some very similar for sale on various different online auctions, etc but the prices were pretty eye watering really. Using those for inspiration, I'm fortunate that he was able to build something identical for me, for less than half of some of the prices I've seen elsewhere. While not the new logo, I think it came out looking great and I couldn't be happier with it.

WOW...Jealous from Florida. I thought my 1600sf garage with a bathroom was a big deal in our Scottsdale home. This one puts mine in the amateur category.
You are so fortunate. This is larger than some houses. I am envious. (Smile)
BTW I had the same color and epoxy floor installed 10 years ago and it has been flawless.

Yea man, I had one installed at my old house and aft 10 years it still looked brand new.. Not a chip, scratch, burn mark.. Nothing! It was fantastic. I hired a really well respected company to do this floor and I am flabbergasted by how badly it went. Just horrible.
Although it's a pretty considerable expense, I feel pretty good about the porcelain. This floor is heated and that's been the best decision I made when building this place. I'm in SE Wisconsin so heat source is a serious consideration as it's needed 6 (or more) months of the year. It's air conditioned as well...of course . I'm working on a humidifier/dehumidifier system currently because that's another big issue here. One extreme to the next, constantly.

Yep! I lived in that environment the first 30 years of my life. I know what you are up against.
Looks great!!
Tangential question - I see you're in Lake Geneva, where do you go for service?
Also, hopefully your floor wasn't done by Garage Force, they did my floor maybe 2 years ago. So far so good though with mine
Beautiful workshop! You may recall me obtaining your silver DBS-hood back in '16 or '17 which I've got hanging in my landing for me to admire every day since..
My garage is only 1080 sq ft. A friend of ours owns the lot across the street from his house. He asked the county if he could build a garage on it. They said no. It is zoned residential so you have to build a house on it. He asked how big of a house? They said 900 sq ft. So he built a 900 sq ft house with a kitchen bath room a bedroom. The didn’t specify how big the garage could be. So the garage is 100’x100’.

I have a Ferrari 458 and a Ferrari 599 in addition to my DBS. I do all my own service work. I have a lift and have never ran into anything with any of the cars I couldn't handle myself. These cars are a pleasure to work on in my opinion. There has always been this stigma attached to exotics about this and I think it's absolutely ridiculous. If you can change your oil on a Chevy pickup, you can do the same with your exotic.
Are you in the area?? No, the floor nightmare was "Midwest Industrial Flooring" or something like that. Big outfit, so didn't expect this disaster.

Ahhh yes, I do. That was back when I was gathering parts to convert my DB9 to a DBS. Decided against that, am I'm glad I didn't see it through. I've got LOTS more stuff for display purposes and running out of walls. I need to post some of the stuff in the marketplace here. It's gotten a bit out of hand. I'm very good at buying, but horrible at selling. Ferrari stuff too.. crazy.
